I was reading an account recently whereby some people were saying that we may be at the beginning of another ice age. Sheesh......... But heck, it was 25 degrees here last night and supposed to be even colder the next few nights, so maybe they are onto something. Sure as hell isn't any global warming going on.....

Y'ALL CANT BELIEVE HOW MUCH DOTTY AND I ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND!

These pictures were taken today January 12, 2011 @11:45AM.
Started snowing at about midnite and is supposed to continue thru 8PM.
Thanks to the plows and my snowblower, there are piles of snow at least 4 feet
deep at both sides of the driveway. Total snowfall SO FAR is about 8 - 10 inches,
and that's on top of the 6 inches of leftover snow/ice that was already on the
lawns.

Proof positive that hell doesn't necessarily have to be fire and brimstone....

Andy, is the bottom photo your driveway? If so that just looks like a good time with 4 wheel drive. :D I had a blast in MN in the winter after a good snow fall.

NASAJack and Kap142 are meeting at the rest area on I-4 (somewhere around MM 48-50 or so) west bound side at 1130 on Saturday. We "B" on our way to Mandalay anyone care to join us for the drive over? We'd love to make it several Vettes.

:vette::vette::vette::vette::vette::vette:

PM sent.

Nope, stepped outside my front door and took a picture of the neighbor's across the street. It looks the same for all of the driveways on the street.
The older I get, the less I like the snow..............

Were you able to get Vette parking?

Unfortunately, parking on the island is at a premium.

I just came back from there. Met the owner (Tad) and Bre (the bar girl/waitress).
Both great folks and definately psyched about us being there.
They have us and one other party reserved for Saturday.
The owner has brought in additional staff and they're setting us up with tables all along the north wall.
Essentially they said, anything we want:thumbsup:

That's when I asked for strippers.....oh well...can't blame a brother for trying:lmao::lmao:

Here's are the parking options:

1) Roadside (where most people park) along the burb on Mandalay.
2) The City parking lot behind the restaurant next to the water. (dit's not paved but it's hard packed and level. Shouldn't be a problem for anyone.)
Tad said that at that time of the day, we should probably have the lot to ourselves)
3) The public lot next to the bank.
4) Across the street in the Hilton Valet lot.*

* - I went over and spoke with the Asst. Valet Manager. at the Hilton.
They normally charge $10.00 for non-guests, and $7.00 for guests.
He said we could get the $7.00 "guest" rate.
I asked about being parked in the lot, facing Mandalay, directly across from the grill? He wasn't sure that would be possible, but I have the name and number for the manager that will be on duty tomorrow and Saturday, and the assistant managers cell number.
IU'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can get about 10 spots reserved?
It's worth a shot.
Option #2 a the Hilton, is the fenced and secured back lot on the north side of the Hilton. We'd enter, go under the covered parking, and inot the area.
We'd be there by ourselves and it's secured.

In the "season" the grill rents the lot from the Wing House next door. That would have been perfect!
I may still see if I can work something out with them????

Anyway, those are our options for now.
Since this isn't a "show" I don't see where the group parking is a huge deal, but I'm still working on it.

FWIW, I spoke with the General Manager at Frenchy's tonight as well.
He nor the other manager were shall we say "happy" with the remarks the female manager made to me a week or so ago:nonod:

He was willing to bend over backward to assist us and he's (the GM) working on Saturday.

But after meeting the owner and staff at the grill, and seeing what they've done to accomodate us, I'd hate to pull out now.

They're a mom and pop shop, and can use the business.
Everything is family owned and the cooks are picky about the food.

I think we'll have a good time:dancer01:

First, I want to thank you for all of your work getting this setup. Then I want to say WTF is wrong with you? :rofl1:

I just polished my car and now you say it isn't a show! :banghead: I want to see Vettes. Lots of em.

My opinion is that we made a commitment at Mandalay and we need to stick with them. You said they were nice and willing to do whatever to get our business. That's refreshing isn't it? Frenchy screwed up and maybe they'll do a little better in their 'training' and we can try again another day.

BTW, parking next door at the Wing House sounds good to me.
