First, I want to thank you for all of your work getting this setup. Then I want to say WTF is wrong with you? :rofl1:

I just polished my car and now you say it isn't a show! :banghead: I want to see Vettes. Lots of em.

My opinion is that we made a commitment at Mandalay and we need to stick with them. You said they were nice and willing to do whatever to get our business. That's refreshing isn't it? Frenchy screwed up and maybe they'll do a little better in their 'training' and we can try again another day.

BTW, parking next door at the Wing House sounds good to me.

As we mentioned early on, this is a get together with Andy and his lovely lady:thumbsup:.
We didn't care if you brought the Vette or the family hauier.

Some people may have to because there's still isn't together or running, they're brining more the themselves and one other, or......thiers is non-existent:lmao:

It's about getting together with friends. The Vettes are a bonus:dancer01:

I will say that the waitress and the owner are looking forward to seeing some Vettes, which was way I was trying to get parking along the front row, streetside at the Hilton.

So haul your "cleaned up vette" (he'll, when does it get dirty?:D) on over here and join the par-tay!:dancer01::thumbsup:

Unfortunately, unless I can get it authorized by the wing place, parking in thier lot would not be advisable:NoNo:

It's posted and there's a possibility that they could tow some cars.
Although Tad said there's about a 99% chance that it wouldn't happen, I wouldn't want to be "the 1%" that does:eek:
Let me see what I can find out today and I'll post up tonight.

I agree with you on the Grill.

It's no where near as "fancy" as Frenchy's and doesn't have the view:nonod:, but the management has gone all out to accomodate us, and when I walked in last night and introduced myself, the waitress that took the reservation, got a big grin on her face:D and the owner came out immediately and introduced himself.
They were both psyched about our party:thumbsup:

Like I said, it's a small mom & pop place, been around about 5-6 years, but the owner has had the same location (retail prior to this) for 26 years and lives upstairs (tough life).

Family owned and operated and is a lifelong friend of "Frenchy". Spoke well of his establishments and was very cordial.

I will plan another event (when Andy and Doty are available) at Frenchy's for the warmer weather.
I'll deal directly with the GM next time and we'll see how that works out?

If anyone wants to, we can always go down there afterwards. There's no way to "group park" though. It's all municipal parking on the beach.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Thanks:thumbsup:

Ok, I've spoken with Chris, the Valet Manager at the Hilton, who has agreed to put us along the east side of the parking lot, in a row (as best he can), facing Mandalay.
Unfortunately, it's still $7.00 a pop for the couple of hours we're going to be there.

I could understand if this were peak season, but hell, the hotel is at best, about 30% occupancy at this time!

Sooooo......I called back the Mandalay to get the number for the wing place next door, to see if I could bribe, I mean beg them for some free spaces behind the Mandaly?

I got Todd (yeah, it's Tad & Tod, 2 brothers) who is the other owner of the Mandalay. He too was psyched about our arrival.

I mentioned the parking delima to him and how parking behind the Mandalay would be ideal:thumbsup:

he said, 'give me an hour'...

20 minutes later, we have the  for parking (FREE) behind the restaurant, in the wings parking lot:dancer01::dancer01:

When you arrive, do not park along the street.
Instead, either take the first right in the roundabout onto East Shore Dr.
Go down to the wing place on your left, and pull into the parking lot behind the Mandalay.
He or his brother will be outside to guide you in and park you.

If you miss the 1st turn, just take your right at Mandalay, go to the next right hand through street, turn right, go to East Shore and turn right again, headed back south. It's all a matter of a block or 2 no matter how you cut it.

These guys are really going all out for us.

If you get lost, have questions or need assistance, please call me @ (813) 478-2726.

Thanks, Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Gordon

Sorry guys, but we've got a brutal cold spell here and we couldn't leave for a day or two. Low reached 23 degrees last night so if we were going to head out of here last night or early AM we would have had to choose between possibly having some exposed exterior water pipes burst from ice, or else have the water pump burn up because of the water running constantly to keep from freezing. They are calling for a low of 26 degrees again tonight, so there was just no way for us to go on a trip for a day or two.
