Lets See the Detailing Pics

Getting my Freak on!

I tried the photo bucket before with a vid and it didn't work for some reason...File too big for the forum I do believe.:banghead:

U-Tube...??? Believe me ...i'd love to post the Vid, it has me Getting my freak on (boogieing) to the "locomotion" on it:dancer01: .

You should be able to upload videos into the photo gallery here. How big is the file?

Rich,

I really don't know. I took it using my camera, tried to upload it here and it said ...it's too big.
I'm not sure how to re size a video.:bigear:

Have you downloaded it from your video camera onto your hard drive? Maybe that is a step you need to do first. At the very least, that would then allow you to see how big the file is. What format is the video file? There seem to be a lot of formats, and not all will be compatible with the photo gallery software.

I've got a bunch of stuff on my own camcorder I need to offload to the PC. The camcorder I have records in high density format, but will downconvert to regular density for computer massaging. I am not aware of any PC video player that will accept the high density format......

Hello Lqdblu,

Nice vette. I noticed that you use alot of Adams car products along with a buffer on your corvette. I was wondering how come you still have spider scratches on your hood? The Flash of your camera displayed this problem to me.

Joe since these pictures were taken I have been able to get some of the swirls out by using a Meguairs Scratch X, Mtsmiles was nice enough to lend me his porter cable polisher but for some reason the swirls just don't come out as easy as I would like to see, if you have any suggestions I am all ears, shoot I will even drive down to where you live show you can show me hands on. I thnk the car in its previous life saw the car wash a lot, which is why I am having an issue with the swirls.

I have emailed Adams Crew for advice and have followed their steps but unfortunately they still show up, maybe its the Lemans Blue color, but the car does look much better since these pics those.

Hello,

Did you use an orbital buffer or a high speed buffer?

Hi,

Let me tell you about orbital buffers. Orbital buffers are great to apply wax or swirl remover. But, they are not powerful enough to remove paint defects: spider scratches, severe swirls, wet sanding scratches, oxidation,
deep scratches etc. Many people are very skeptical about using a high speed buffer on thier corvettes because of paint burn, swirls etc. The buffer is variable speed and you do not have to buff at a high speed. The buffer speed range is 1000 to 3000 rpm. The best speed that I like to buff at is 1200 to 1500 rpm. At this speed there is no chance of burning paint, swirling etc. You start with a wool blend buff pad and then go to foam for a super high gloss.
Or just foam. It depends on the problem.

Another factor is using the right product to do the job. We carry Malco Products. They make the best waxes, compounds, polishes etc. These products are commercial grade quality. It is what the professional detailers use. They get the job done right the first time you use them.

You are more than welcome to bring your Corvette by my shop in Largo. We sell varible speed buffers/polishers for 65.00. I can teach you the correct way to buff your car and the product you will need to remove any kind of paint defect. You do not have to do 5 different steps and spend ten hours detailing your corvette. Saturdays are a good day for me to help you out. If you would like to speak with me directly, you can reach me at 727 224-9021.Take care.

How about making a video of the tips and tricks and putting it on DVD? I would buy one from you. And tell me more about those variable speed buffers. I would be interested in one.

Great advice,Just remember to always keep the high speed buffer moving around, never in one spot more then a second or two, they work great. That's what I got.Swirl marks gone in a heart beat.
