• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

March 14, 2009-CorvetteFlorida BBQ/Gathering (DATE)

Will do Rich and sorry you and the lovely Connie aren't going to make it. We'll miss you guys:(

I understand the work thing. I'm just saying f'it! and walking away from mine!! Fed up for the week. The fortunate part is, although it does multiply, it doesn't breed and doesn't need me to to it:D

I'm going to plan something later in the summer if possible either at my place or on one of the coastal areas.

So as Paul Harvey used tosay..."Stand by for news!"

G

Summer? Man, it doesn't let up on us till late September. There is a short breathing space between the time the breeding takes place and the eggs start being laid. Then another short breather between egg laying and when all those critters start hatching out. Between mid June and the mid August I will be having between 3,000 and 6,000 babies hatching out needing to be cared for. That's when I REALLY get busy. Just to give you an idea of what I mean, if I have just 3,000 babies to take care of and want to feed them every 7 days (5 is actually better), how many do I need to take care of every day? Let's suppose I can really whip through them only spending 1 minute for each of them. So what are we looking at timewise? That is every single day roughly 425+ babies need to be cleaned and fed... On top of everything else going on... Which is why I want to sell this business before it kills Connie and myself. Based on the chest pains I get every year at that time, my guess is I'm living on borrowed time as it is.

No, I'm not expecting you guys to work around my schedule for these get togethers, just explaining in advance about why if the timing isn't just right, it won't be possible for us to attend. Late Summer? Forgetaboutit...... :nonod:

..... although BERNADETTE & I had a great time, we never got our camera out to take any pictures, and hopefully those who did will post their pictures here:
a special thanks to our hosts for making this event possible!

Yep....

Deb and I had a great time shootin' the breeze with everyone, well almost everyone.... I know there were a few folks that I got to say hello to on my way to the food or the beer coolers but didn't get to chat with, but Holy Crap, there was a party out front, a party inside and a party out back....What a day. The food was nonstop, I think everytime I passed the dining room table there was another round of fixins, I think I added an extra inch to the waistline. The Chicken and Ribs were Great, the fruit and veggies and the Desserts... I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Hey, there's a doggie bag in the fridge... be right back....

Anyway, Thank You Ken and Carrie for your hospitality. This is what it's all about. The Bikers have a saying, "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand" I think that holds true for here as well.

To all the folks that couldn't make it, ya missed a good one. :dancer01:

I will post some pics as soon as I resize them to fit. :banghead:

Man, wish Connie and I could have been there. Looks like you all had a great time. Who set this up at a time when we couldn't be there? I need to ban somebody........ :hehehe:

No, seriously, I really hope we can make the next one. I feel kind of silly that we couldn't be there. :ack2:

Hey Ray and Angel! We really miss seeing you guys!

Uh....I guess that would be....me.......
:hide:

now before you do anything rash...remember your policy on bannings:giveup::lmao::lmao:

I had a great time there, as I'm sure everyone did. I tried to at least introduce myself to everyone, but I wouldn't put money on me remembering everyone's names at the next meet.:hehehe: Thanks to Ken and Carrie (as has been said) for all the hospitality. Now everyone who went to this just needs to return the favor.

Next BBQ we set up will have to be some time when there isn't pollen everywhere though... every time somebody walked under the tree, it gave me a fit!:hehehe:
