Micanopy, FL

Yeah, well obviously Micanopy is on a campaign to make their town a little bigger on the radar. When we were in one of the shops, I overheard the owner asking a few people there if the sign they had put out on route 75 influenced their coming to the town. Hopefully Micanopy won't become just another Yuppieburg that is infesting many small towns. It's getting to the point where ALL "historical districts" are looking alike and filled with shops selling imported Chinese junk as "souvenirs". Then you have the furniture shops filled with imported Bali made stuff and often trying to pawn it off as legitimate antique furniture or more quality makings from Europe.

Just how many towns like that does Florida need? :shrug01:

About the ONLY thing I think Micanopy needs is a real good restaurant......

I third that motion.

Speaking of good restaurants and road trips. I'd like to recommend a Southern Georgia establishment. Take I75 to Exit 5 in Lake Park GA. As you are exiting Northbound you'll see it on the right side. It's called the Farmhouse and has some of the best food I've had this side of my late estranged father in-law's, biscuits and gravy at his southern homestyle restaurant. If you are into quail you have to order the 4 Halves of fried quail 13.95 with 2 sides is the best. There are times like last night we just jump in the car and drive there to have quail. Well it's really only me :) the wife loves the homemade chicken and dumplins.

Anytime you all are heading up I75 stop in, you won't be disappointed.
