i believe it's the cheapest way to have a camera mount (no drilling necessary) .. i was debating to get a camera mount with suction cups but couldn't make sure if it would work with my digital camera and didn't wanna spend $80...instead i went with walmart tripod for $12 ,adjustable strap (w/hooks) for $2..

here's the video taken today

It works!

Cool video and the mount seems to work. I like where you put the radar detector, good job! Your reverse lock-out must work, I could never go for 5th that way!

Wow, that was much more stable than I thought it'd be. just don't hit the track with that, unless it's just a straight quarter mile. I fish tail too much to not have a solid camera mount.

i took the pictures with my webcam , cuz my digital camera was in use  sorry for the blurry images

once i get a better shot of that ,i'll post it here ;)

I was thinking about adding one of these but i saw a better way to mount the tripod. The two front legs were extended out to behind the seats, and the third just extended out to the back, and they used a tie down like you did but i think it was from around the rear speaker area to the other side. If i can find the picture ill post it.

Im in the same boat as you though, if i can make something work for much less, then im all for it.
