Rain today

Been getting rain showers for the past few days, but nothing more than around a quarter inch per event. This morning we got a real dowsing with 1.22 inches. Might get a little more before the night is over with.

Skeeters are starting to ramp up, it seems.

It seems to rain here in ft myers just about every afternoon .The clouds are amazing black ,my wife calls 'em ominous and they are .Sometimes they instantly just open up with bucks of rain for 10 minutes .Last week we had 212 lightning in 15 minutes .

I love the intensity of the weather.

Yeah, when Connie and I would stay on Sanibel Island in June, we could see really awesome storms develop over Ft. Myers just about every afternoon.

Very impressive looking roiling clouds, especially when I would take timelapse video of them.

We've been getting sprinkles in the afternoons about every day or so lately. Got 0.07" today and as much as 0.37" on 08/02.

Got 0.43" of rain on Tuesday in an hour's time in the early afternoon.

Had quite a downpour this afternoon. 2.95 inches of rain, most of which fell within an hour between 5:25 and 6:25pm. Temperature dropped 17 degrees in 10 minutes.

We got 1.05 inches of rain early this evening. Lots of lightning and thunder associated with it.

Looks like some storms in the eastern Gulf this morning, but they do look like they are dissipating as they get closer to Florida.

So far for August we've had over 5 inches of rain. Since July 1 we've had over 14 inches.

It is REALLY humid out. All of the windows in the house are all fogged up in the early morning. Went outside this morning to pop a squirrel and my scope got so fogged up I couldn't see a darn thing through it.

Yesterday we got 0.68 inches of rain. Heat index ("feels like") in the afternoon right before the storm hit reached 127 degrees.

We had a lot of thunder coming from the west and northwest, but only got 0.07" of rain from it.
