Please be careful in the rain w/ your vettes, We are seeing allot of hydro locked c-5's around here from those "little" puddles, its crazy to see what a little bit of water can do to a sound motor.

Greg actually took me to dinner in his 99FRC that is one inch off of the ground:lmao:, we were very nervous when it started raining again.

Its the kind of business we don't like, People getting a motor out of need and not want. and seeing sad faces walk in like someone just stole their child.
 
yea no kidding, i went through a "little" low spot on my street and the water flowed back over my hood. This morning it stumbled a lil... wet sensors i guess.

Almost had an expensive boat anchor.... :ack2:

Nice Reminder! :wavey: Now if I could just figure out why the wipers don't work on my truck...the vette could get a brake during all this rain.
 
Out of curiosity, what sort of air intake do those cars have that came in with broken motors? Is the STS setup with those air intakes in the back more or less susceptible than others out there?
 
Mines parked and I'm in a rental:thumbsup:

Too many miles, too much standing water and too many back roads (not to mention the damned shower I get everytime it rains:mad:)

Better to trash the rental companies ride:thumbsup:(cheaper too):dancer01:

Wow! Proof positive that water does NOT compress......

But I'm having trouble figuring out how water can get past an air filter in such quantities that it floods a cylinder. If an air filter can't block water, how in the world does it block ANYTHING? I would think an air filter that got saturated with water would just choke off the air flow and stall the engine from asphyxiation.

Our guess is that the intake sealed to the water in the puddle, It was fully summered The cia actually housed allot of water, He was in a parking lot at work.

Ive never seen such a thing, We never got to see damage that bad before, not even from our road course guys. I dont think a semi truck running over the piston could have caused that damage,
