Weather forecasts

27* here this morning. Coldest of the season so far. It's not even 10 PM yet and already down to 35* now....

Well, I've got three remote thermometer sensors on the front porch and they are reading 29.7, 30.0, and 32.2 right now at 1:00 am. Yeah, I think it's going to get pretty chilly before the temps start climbing again when the sun comes up.

Some of the plants weren't real happy about last night. The Japanese magnolias are always about the first to bloom here, and often they get their blooms zapped by these later cold fronts that blast through.

I sure wouldn't want to own a nursery right now and have to have spent all weekend covering plants from the cold coming.

Little chilly around your area eh? I can sympathize with you a bunch. It was
16* this morning when I got up, and 21* with a good sized wind (40MPH-ish)
when I was snowblowing yesterday. Never mind the PLANTS not liking it, NEITHER
DO I. This is the worst time in New England, I think. For about 4 weeks in Jan-Feb
the temps get down into the single digits, and with the wind, it becomes bone
chilling. I'm always glad to get out of Feb. and in to March. The temps are rising,
the days are getting longer, and people's moods in general start to get better.
PLUS, we always come to Florida sometime in March, and that helps out a bunch.

When I was a kid living in Pompano Beach I thought it was cold when it got down to 60*.....:nonod:

Heck, I feel that way NOW. When Connie and I first moved down here, 50 degrees felt pretty comfortable. Guess we've officially got "Florida blood" now.

Low got down to 27.2 on the front porch, so it didn't get as cold as the previous night. We'll be folding up most of the tarps today to put them away. Connie has some REAL tropical plants that she'll cover if it drops below 40 degrees, so we'll keep at least one tarp at the ready for a while.

Well, looks like the Spring rains are setting in around here. Been raining pretty solidly all day long, and more forecast thru Monday. Might be a while before I'll be able to take any of the cars out again if the road is the mess I think it is right now.

It's "Bend Over Here It Comes Again" (BOHICA) time in the great frozen Northeast!
Looks like we're gonna get 3 to 6 inches more of that ^#%&$-ing
white stuff again this weekend! I just wanna know how come it can't snow
during the week sometimes? Why on the weekends? SHEESH..I can hardly
wait till this crap is all gone for this year!
Andy :wavey:

Yeah we had quite the deluge yesterday. Stopped raining before I went to bed around 3:30am. Then Connie wakes me up at 5:15 to let me know that we don't have any water pressure. So I got up and we went to check on it. I thought possibly a tree had fallen across the pump and destroyed it, but turned out to be the start capacitor to the pump had leaked electrolyte and died. So that repair only cost us $30. I was thinking the pump had gone bad and I was going to have to call someone in (on overtime pay over the weekend) to replace the pump. This sort of crap always seems to happen only on weekends. Much like the snowstorms, I guess, eh Andy?

YEP! No B.S.. Mr Murphy workin overtime I guess.........
Glad it was a quick and inexpensive fix for you.
Andy :wavey:

Over 2 inches so far today. That makes 7 1/4 inches so far since friday! And we can't even blame it on a tropical storm.....matter of fact, we've had tropical storms go through and gotten less rain....:shrug01:

Just checked the radar and there appears to be a LOT more rain on the way. At least into Tuesday. I might have to get some conversions done on the vettes in order to get them out of the driveway..

Rats, looks like the overnight temps are going to be dropping down into the mid 30s towards the weekend.

Yuch! What a crappy day it has been. Raining all day and only 59 degrees outside. :ack2:

Yeah, I'm looking at the radar right now and it looks like it might very well rain all throughout the night. Probably going to be great for the spring peepers and other amphibians with all the temporary breeding pools.

Got a good solid 14 inches of snow yesterday and last night, and IT AIN'T DONE YET!
It's that heavy, wet snow that makes my poor little 5 HP snow blower puke.
Looks like I'll be out there in the cold, wind, and snow AFTER I finish my coffee!
I'm starting to get :2232censored: tired of this white :2232censored:!
So now,.......not only does my Vette have snow tires on it, but I had to put on chains
as well because the miserable street isn't plowed! Just kidding :rofl1:! The street
ISN'T plowed, but the Vette is enjoying being inside while it's raining in Dunedin.
Bottom line........Get Me The :2232censored: Out Of Here !!!!!
Andy :wavey:

Here's what it looks like so far...........
supposed to get 2 or 3 more inches before it's all done.
Eat your hearts out guys! You KNOW you want to come up here and play in it! :lmao:

Yuch!! That is a sight that I hope I NEVER see first hand again in my entire life. I read that there was a substantial hail fall up in parts of Tallahassee a week ago, and that's bad enough. Water needs to remain LIQUID at all times.
