Xtreme Motorsports

I'll tell ya what, I think that comment is way off line. Where I come from you just don't say things like that when a guy is trying to work things out with you. That is total BS.

Any particular reason why you decided to rip off the bandaid on this problem and poor salt in the wound? :banghead:

And how about this:

So what.

Even if that was what I meant, which I assure you it was not, what would be so wrong about a man asking for forgiveness for something he did wrong?

I rather be dealing with a person who can admit their flaws openly then some schmuck who thinks himself above fault.

Ridiculousness.

I posted my thoughts and you confirmed with that PM you sent that I was correct.

You thought wrong and i didint confirm ****, you are simply doing exactly what richs' metaphor implies.

If you have an issue with what i said even after explaining to you that you misinterpreted it, PM me and i will be happy to explain it again, otherwise stay out of this thread!

It is total BS that you took something out of context and disregarded the sheer ****ing generosity without maybe thinking about before you posted.

Humble - Near the ground; not high or lofty; not pretentious or magnificent; unpretending; unassuming

I am so sick of this ****.

There you go with the language and attitude again:NoNo:Try stating your opinion without it:thumbsup:

Any way you can clean that up Shadow, or does this just have to be skewed even more?

There's nothing "skewed" here. He simply posted his comment as to how he read it.
I got the exact same feeling from it when I read it (and I read it several times over). I just chose to ignore it:thumbsup:
As you know we generally don't "clean up" around here as you find on most sites. As a rule we don't "edit" posts.
People are free, as long as it stays civil, non-threatening and quasi-professional, to voice thier opinions.

What did I take out of context? Maybe I misunderstood your post. Let me tell you how I see it. 'He crawled on his belly and begged your forgiveness.' Did I misinterpret something?

Unfortunately Dan, I read it the same way. The original post sounded a bit condescending toward Chris. I actually interpreted it the same way as Bob K. I simply chose not comment and stay out of it so as not to set anyone off or rekindle the flame.

Considering I posted the literal ****ing definition for you, and you still managed to take it out of context, yes, you misinterpreted something.
You must have been puzzled by the absolute contrast in your interpretation of that specific phrase and the rest of the ENTIRE post no? Or did that just phase you by without any issue? It didn't make you second guess your original guess?

You took a GOOD thing, and turned it into a bad one. Way to go chum.

Although I understand your meaning in the above post, it's once again you mannerism that is a bit caustic:nonod: It seems that when anyone disagrees, challenges, or questions, anything you say, you become angry and defensive? Why bro? Say what you have to say, make your point, and try to loose some of the confrontational attitude. It'll work better for you in the long run.

Any particular reason why you decided to rip off the bandaid on this problem and poor salt in the wound? :banghead:

No reason. I was just reading through the posts and found this one to be very degrading to the engine folks.

Frankly Rich, as I stated above, I felt the same way. Regardless of what the term "means", most people don't tote around a "FUNK & WAGNALLS" with them all day. As such, I took the statement to be a bit degrading to Chris. The initial part of the post was fine. It could have been worded better, but not everyone is a wordsmith. Unfortunately, for someone who didn't want to give more "detail" regarding how this was working out, the latter part became a little more condescending IMO. It could have either been left out or reworded.

See all the above BOLDED/Italicized/Underlined sections for my point.
If you left out some of the confrontational language and commentary, you'd probably get a better response. At least more support.

And excuse me my friend!

I agree on the PM issue.

It's apparent that there's already been a PM or 2 between the tow of you. If there's going to be a raging debate over the context vs content, then I agree. Lets keep that in PM (and leave me OUT of it!).

I read the comment and saw absolutely nothing wrong with what Fatbum wrote. I thought it was very kind to Chris considering the things FB has had to deal with. IF everything happened the way Fatbum said over the past 3 or 4 months, I think the post was EXTREMELY kind to extreme motorsports.

Well.

Today this came into the shop.

We are just waiting on my new cam to come in, as I knew I should swap my current cam out with a newer one to take advantage of the heads Chris is giving me in his effort to make things right.

The injectors have been sent out to be upgraded and I it seems this saga is coming to a close.

I will of course keep you updated if anything were to change.

Chris got into a bad spot,Chris has made this right 100%.

So yea, cheers. I'll post up next time there is something to post.

I think this is all that is important here.

I was not addressing any of the problems between these two. Only what I think is a demeaning post. If I have a problem with a builder I will post but I won't get into personal details. If he corrects the problem I will also post the details, again without personal details.

I did not post to open old wounds. I read the comment I took exception to in a post made by Rich yesterday.

I received a PM that I will not respond to. It just confirmed my initial impression of the person that sent it.

Everyone reads and interprets things differently.

Personally, I was fine with the follow up until he got into the more personal part of it in the latter paragraphs.

I found it a bit demeaning to Chris personally, but that's just the way I read it.

I agree:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I am glad it's working out for you. I am still in the "no response" zone. It's kinda like the "friend" zone only WAY more quiet.

(a shot at interjecting some humor here:D)

So, sort of a friends WITHOUT benefits thing I guess?

Please don't mis-understand but I think you posted to get some support and help with your problem. You have been given a ton of support and also good advice by many.

It doesn't seem to me that you are doing anything to resolve your issue so what's the point? If there is something going on privately it's none of my business but why post about it? I'm really not criticizing, just trying to understand. I offered to go get the car for you to help out but you declined.

I'm going to avoid any heated discussion because I solar flare quite quickly and again takes away from the point of my continuous posting.

Just waiting for the new cam to get here and I believe the upgraded injectors, tomorrow would be likely for the injectors.

Looks like Chris has mounted the engine in the car. Now he has to add heads, cam, etc. I'm just trying to learn something here. Wouldn't it have been a lot easier to install the completed engine?

Maybe so.... But my guess is simply that Chris wanted to be able to show some PROGRESS being made on this car.

I never thought of that. Maybe it's just sitting there then and he'll pull it to finish the work. That baby should move right on down the road when it's finished.

He didn't have the cam at the time, and with all of the stuff removed, its still quite easy to install the cam. He took advantage of some time it seems. Nothing wrong with that. Probably just wanted to get it hooked up to the transmission etc.

He would of course have to answer that, this was just speculation.

That makes a lot of sense. These young guys can still bend over the fenders and some of us have a hard time. :yesnod:

The GTO has to be the easiest platforms to work on,the engine compartment is so open it allows even the hardest mods like a head and cam swap to be done with ease.
With the heads off it also makes it easier to install the engine and transmission combo seeing how we had Rich's car tying up the lift we had to start this car even if it meant up on jackstands. Basically it was easier this way and we were able to make alot of progress on Fatbums car.

So NO the engine will not have to come back out to complete.
