427 engine (part 2) - RHS block

Yeah, looks like you bit off a BIG chunk too, with this...

Has your wife been smacking you alongside your head like Connie has been doing to me? :lmao:

Well, not quite, as she is extremely civilized, but I have been getting some skeptical looks and some rolled eyes. I expect to be hearing about it, in her very subtle way, for years.

But she hasn't killed me or kicked me out, so God bless 'er! :D :lmao:

Sweet! Is this the one I saw last week at Antivenom? It will be worth it in the end. Nice eye candy...even better than some of the roadhouse!!:D:thumbsup:

 Nice looking piece of hardware! Looks too pretty to fill up with oil and put under a hood, doesn't it? Connie wasn't too thrilled with my passing thought to make my engine into a coffer table.... :hide: But come to think of it, maybe that would have been best to do..... :bang:

I couldn't totally hold it in, though, so there are pics of the engine here: Head Thread and here Complete Engine Pics. If any of our "banned" members can't open these, let me know and I'll work something out.

That is the best looking engine I have ever seen. If it runs as good as it looks all I can say is hang on.

Will you be racing at Bradenton? I would make the 3 hour drive just to see this thing.

Man oh man oh man, that is a great looking engine. :yesnod:
Hope you get to fire that baby up soon.

Well, Bracket #2. A few key measurements were still missing so I had to make some educated guesses......hope it fits as w/out the car here it's hard to visulize. The first one I'm told got damaged, so here is the revised one. Going out tomorrow to Rich:

Anyone else that needs something custom fabbed, let me know.

Thanks Tracy! Are you going to be able to polish it for me? :hehehe:

Man, I hope you asked Chris about those "educated guesses" with this!

If you are sending this to me, remember that I don't have mail delivery at my physical address. You would need to use my P.O. Box with USPS.

I've still got the throttle body here. Chris says he is going to do the tuning with the TB he had in the car and then switch to this bigger one to further fine tune it.

Whish I could polish it, but my buffer got kept at the old shop. I can do some though with what I have.

I didn't ask since it is to hard to describe over the phone. The drawing was better this time, but I think it will do fine.

Thanks for the help. I can finish up the polishing if you send it to me, but honestly, I think I got burned out with polishing ANYTHING after doing those cradles..... :ack2:

I have to admit this is one of the theads that I read the most. But is only a close second to the roadhouse. Nice engine though.

Well, the timing chain cover and bung came in on Friday. It appears that it is taking Monday thru today (Wednesday) to get this minor part of the entire fiasco finished. That's assuming that it won't leak or otherwise be another unforeseen problem itself. I hope Chris checked it to make certain it FIT before having the bung welded into it.

The front of the engine is supposed to be put back together tomorrow and tuning resumed on Friday.

Connie asked me if I wanted to place another bet with her. Double or nothing. I declined this time.....

Rich are you going out to the shop this morning? I'll be there sometime after 10am.Sure hope all goes well with your car and the tune get's installed.See ya out there.

Mike, I'm not planning on running out there till the afternoon. I just talked to Chris and they are still putting it back together with the new timing chain cover. From implied indications, I don't expect tuning to get resumed today. Really the only reason I'm running out there is to get the camera mounts that I left at the shop last time I was there. Like a dummy I left BOTH of them there.... :banghead:

It's the doohickey that is the goes-inza for the camshaft position sensor.... :hehehe:

Or think of an internally threaded thingy that the sensor screws into. :D
Think of the thingy as a 2/4 inch pistol barrel without the site and threaded inside.

You can also do a 'bung' search on Google.

Time to get that car done Rich!!!
