Hey Shadow, do you have an estimate on how many of us will be there?

At the moment, we're between 18-21:thumbsup:
Good numbers for a party:dancer01::dancer01:

What does everyone think about name tags? My suggestion is that everyone make their own with your forum name and real name.

We still have ours from another event (I think?).
It's up to ya'll.

I will try and remember my camera and get a lot of pictures and video.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:
You've just been appointed video historian:D

The camera does double duty and I'll also volunteer to put pics and video on DVD and send it to whoever requests one.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:Cool!

Shadow is paying for this so no charge to you. :thumbsup:

Now that Shadow is down on the floor wondering what just hit him it's still going to be free to all. :rofl1:

:lmao::lmao::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'll do it Jack. Sorry ref Traci, she's cuter then you.:shrug01:

I'll call a few days ahead of the trip and we'll square away the timing.

Hey Ken...I'm attempting to talk/convince Traci into going...just sleep on the way there and on the way back! :sleep:

She's pondering :thinkin: my proposal! :hehehe:

Awesome Jack, Hope she can make it. And just in case it'll help, no clothing is required if she rideas in Goldie!:thumbsup::lmao::lmao: with me:crazy03:

Ok, I just got off the phone with Frenchy's.
I'm a little dissapointed in thier attitude.
I guess "good fortune" has gone to thier heads:thumbsdown:

They won't reserve seating for less than 40, and all 40 have to be there before they'll "start" saving tables.

We have about 20+ at this point, possibly 25-30 by show time!:dancer01:

What they will do, is once the first person arrives, we can give them the name of the party and number expected.

Once that number arrives, they'll "start" gathering tables.
Depending on the weather and such, it could be a long or short wait.

We could give them a smaller number, then "grow" as we go....

I called the Mandalay Grill on Clearwater Beach:
http://www.mandalaygrill.net/dinner.htm
and they were more than happy to accomodate us:thumbsup:

They're not "on" the beach as is Frenchy's, but they have an unobstructed view. across the street at the roundabout.

They were excited to say the least, so I made the reservation (we can always break them).

I know Andy and his lovely bride wanted to see Frenchy's, so what do yoyu think?

I'm going to throw up a poll.

We could do Mandalay for lunch then head up to frenchys' for the view and some drinks (your choice of libations).
We could go to Frenchy's and take our chances with time.
We could do the whole shootin' match at Mandalay.

Let me know your thoughts?

Thanks:wavey:

Screw Frenchy. I do not like people with attitudes. I am willing to let Andy make the decision though.

Why is it that any sentence with French in it has a way to piss people off????? Go figure. Any reasonable restaurant should be bending over backwards to accomodate a reasonable large party. Now that Grouper sanwich is starting to taste really frenchy; I mean bad!! I will do whatever the group decides.

Andy says that "The FRIENDS are what matters!" SKRU Frenchy's if everybody else agrees. I'm in it for the fun and seeing friends again, and don't really care where we go.........
Andy (The easy one) :lmao::wavey:

And making new friends! I only know one person on this board and I'll never tell anyone it's Gordon. :D

Miss Dotty just looked at the menu, saw what they have to offer, saw that they serve PEPSI :thumbsup:, and is GOOD TO GO!
Andy :wavey:

Hey Gordon, just for kicks I would inform the manager of Frenchy's that they lost 25 customers to their competition due to their inflexibility and whatever else you come up with. And do it in your LEO voice and scare the crap out of them. :lmao::lmao:

It's funny Mark, but I pretty much implied that when I was speaking with her (it was the manager I was speaking to).
Even mentioned that one of the other members suggested the Paradise Grill...she just didn't seem to care:shrug01:

In one of the reviews, there was a reference to a female manager who didn't seem to care much. Musta been my lucky day:rofl1:

They're usually packed (mostly tourists), and if you read the reviews, well, they're not all that great.
I guess thier good fortune has gone to thier heads.:nonod:
I've never had a bad experience there, but this has sort of soured me.

I'm going to try to find the GM and send him/her a letter.

Meanwhile, the only thing I'll be going there for in the future, are drinks and a sunset....

Whatever u decide upon Shadow...I've been to that island when I use to live in Tampa...really not a bad view from any venue...so, the choice for us is to leave it up to u! Whatever works....its not the venue really, its the people we're gathering for!! :thumbsup:

Well there's always the Boiler Room or the Salty Dog. No views from the Boiler Room except for the pool tables. Salty Dog has great views and food is OK. Sandbar on Anna Maria is very nice but crowded too. All this stress is gonna lead me to the drinks!!! :thumbsup::lmao:

I just checked the reviews on that Mandalay Grill...

I think they refer to that as a "mixed" review... :shrug01:

Did you do the review on Frenchy's?
In your words, also a "mixed review."
I always take these "reviews" with a grain (or a bucket) of salt:yesnod:.

As you can see, at least one of those "reviews" was written by a disgurntled former employee:lmao:

The same goes for all of these review sites. There's simply no way to know who is writing the "review."

I've eaten at Frenchy's on many an occasion. Always enjoyed it!
The food was adequate (nothing to really write home about, but the fiew and the atmosphere was astounding!
The live band get's a bit loud at time, but hey, I'm getting older too:lmao:

Unfortunately, thier position on large groups, and thier unwillingness to even discuss accomdating us, was annoying!

I've never been to Mandalay, but they were eager to accomodate us, and frankly, the menu looks better than Frenchy's.:thumbsup:

There are literally hundreds of places along Clearwater and Sand Key, not to mention the Gulf Blvd. strip between Sand Key and St. Pete. Beach.

I've been to many and each have thier own pro's and cons.

This was the closest to Frenchy's (so we could still walk there if we liked to see the sunset, have a few drinks, or just let Andy and Dotty say they've "been there":D)
If you have a better suggestion, please feel free to throw it out there:thumbsup:
