Hi Ray,
We are looking forward to having you stay with us again!! We do have our "Champagne Getaway" Special during that time....... Stay 3 nights and the third night is 1/2 $ and we throw in a bottle of champagne. We also have our "Nights of Lights" Special.....Stay 2 nights Sunday - Thursday and we will give you tickets for the Tour (on the Red Sightseeing Train) of the City's lights at night and a coupon for a complimentary bverage of your choice at A1A Ale house either before or after the Tour!! The City is really beautiful at that time of year with all the lights illuminated, you won't want to miss it!!!

Tell you what...if you all book the entire house during your stay, we'll put everybody's name in the hat for a drawing for a free two night stay!!!

See you in December!!

Lynne

Now, I've called her (just now ) to clarify the highlighted area in her reply above.

Her reply after I called her...
Hi Ray and Angel,
I keep trying to find a good time to call you back regarding your Dec stay and haven't been too successful, so I thought I'd respond this way.....
Regarding the booking the entire house, Looks like the Monday and Tuesday dates would work, (So far there are 4 rooms booked for those two days, just 4 to go) The winning 2 Night stay would be for a future stay.

Hope that helps!!
Looking forward to seeing you in Dec!
Lynne

"Now there were some oddities to be noted there. People proclaiming to be "homeless" (which I guess means "jobless" as well) seemed to be in abundance at many of the corners. Seems odd that they would be in such a situation when roughly 1 out of 4 shops there had signs on the doors or windows seeking help. I guess either the shops were just pretending to be looking for hired help, or perhaps the "jobless" were holding out for management positions. One of the more well healed "homeless" might have been more effective if he hadn't had his cell phone and digital camera in plain sight right next to his sign."
LOL, all the time ill be driving and see "homeless" people on the side of the road begging for money and food, but they always seem to have a months supply of cigarrettes, and some alcohol... seems like they should get there prioritys straight and they wouldnt have to beg for food, they have the money just spend it on stupid stuff...

I went to St. Augustine wen i was REALLY young with my parents, dont remember it much at all, and again in 4th Grade for and end of the year field trip (dont know how we ended up getting a field trip to the opposite end of the state) it was a lot of fun though, we were young and stupid but it sure made for some fun at those shops lol, and the fort was really kool, i dont remember it too great just the fort and a lot of the stupid things we did that we thought were hilarious... id like to go back there though

Connie and I took a drive to St. Augustine this past weekend to check out the parking situation as well as to look over the Inn. The place looks really nice. Very clean and cozy looking. We couldn't get in to see the rooms, of course, since they were all booked except one, but the one we did go in looked real comfortable. I think it's going to be fun staying there.

Last time I checked, they still have rooms available for the 3rd and 4th if anyone is interested. The Christmas lights will be up all over the city, so it should be beautiful....

As for parking, well, it's not perfect, but it will do. Some of the spots are going to be under trees, so bear that in mind. Maybe that time of the year there won't be too much problem with sap dripping from the branches. But trees are just about everywhere in that town, so it's kind of an unavoidable situation. The spot we are going to be assigned is thankfully without trees, but it's kind of exposed, so there is a tradeoff, I guess. Still not too bad, I think.

Connie and I checked out the eats at Osteen's again and the shrimp were EXCELLENT. Couldn't believe we were able to park right in front of the door and literally walked right in to be seated. The place was crowded, but miraculously enough, there was a two seater table available, and everyone waiting had a larger party. They all probably thought we owned the place by the way we just zipped into parking and then walked in immediately for a table. :)

We were going to spend the night at a hotel north of the city, and since the Country Inn & Suites looked pretty nice, we stopped in there. But that was short lived. The room was the pits. Mold above the doorway, musty smelling, the smoke alarm broken off of the wall, and to top that all off, the shower head was broken off of the way in the shower. Plus it didn't look all that clean either. So we just packed up our things again and took it all out to the car (took the C5Z) and went to the front desk to tell them we weren't staying there. So we wound up driving home that night.

Saw quite a few vettes on the road, so hopefully some saw the CorvetteFlorida decals and will stop by to take a look here. Sure exchanged a bunch of waves with them all...

But anyway, to repeat, if you can make it the first week in December to St. Augustine, think about joining us. This may become a yearly thing and perhaps set the standard for doing something similar at other towns across Florida. CorvetteFlorida Excursions or something. Who knows what it could grow into over time?

Well I hope I don't scare everyone else away.... Just booked the Southern Royal room for Dec. 3rd and 4th..My wife had to cancel vacation she had scheduled this week so it worked out .... Looking forward to it :dancer01:

Rich did you happen to get a look at the offsite parking? Lynn said it was about a block away, but they have never had a problem...???

Hey, glad you can make it! We just signed up for another room for Wednesday night since the one we have for Monday and Tuesday isn't available then. We wanted to stay another day there.

Nearly all the parking is going to be under trees or nearby bushes, so bear that in mind. And the parking spaces will be tight. The inn itself is on a pretty narrow street, so what Connie and I are planning is for her to jump out of the passenger seat while I swing around the block, then pick her up on the second pass so we can go directly to our parking place. If you pull up into the driveway itself of the inn, beware of some of those stone blocks in the center that are sitting up pretty high and might catch your air dam.

We talked to a guard at the parking area we got and he said there have never been any problems that he is aware of in the few years he has worked there. I think it will be OK. Heck, I find scratches and dings on my car just sitting in our own driveway that weren't there before. Some some scrape marks yesterday that I don't have a clue how they got there. Both FedEx and UPS delivered packages since I last had the cover off so I'm thinking one of them might have bumped up against the car walking to the house. Not real happy about that, but since I don't know definitely who did it, not much I can do about it. They buffed right out, so no real harm done, but it does get you into a short term pissy mood......

Looks like there is only 1 room available for monday night (12/03) and two rooms available for Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

We're expecting to have a real good time, so it looks like there is room for one or two more couples. Grab this opportunity while you can. This may become a yearly thing........ Unless Ray snores so loud it shakes the building.......... :lmao:

A couple of us are leaving Tampa about 7 am on Monday. We'll drive a couple hours and stop for breakfast. Then finish the trip. Why not meet us on I-4?

FWIW, we're checking in on Monday afternoon, staying tuesday and leaving Wednesday afternoon.

Come on and join us:thumbsup::dancer01:

Same here...Mon.__ in Wed.___ out

I was wondering if it would be better to take 75 to Ocala and 40 east to 95..then North..I think trying to navigate I/4 on a monday morning will be slow.. But its been years since I traveled 40 and it was a 2 lane road for a good stretch....Anyone traveled this area lately?

Hope you can make it Rob....

Stay away,... far, far, away from I-4 if you can.

:)woo! this just could turn into a party:eek::welcome:

Love to see you make it bro. We're going over Monday also but we'll do the I-4 to 417 skirting Orlando then back on I-4 to 95 and north. Might hit some traffic but don't plan on leaving so early as to hit the BS Orl traffic. That is unless TXmomma comes up with a good meet up location:yesnod:. We're staying through Wednesday night coming home Thursday.

Check in at the Inn is showing as 3-6 PM so we probably won't leave till maybe noon or noon thirty.

Mint Juleps and Port on the balcony at 6.:D :drink4::icon_cheers::party:
